LeRoy and Katherine Horton established a small meat bird operation in the early 1950’s in the town of Eldred. Carl b.1938 assisted his father up thru high school when the meat bird business collapsed. Carl also ran his own vaccination and de-beaking crews for local egg farms. For 2 years, he helped Kamens & Lane in Harris expand their egg farm as manager. After, Carl worked in appliance repair and today runs his own trucking company.
