George Walters
George b.1938 was born in Brooklyn to George Walters b.1910-73 and Elizabeth Daub b.1909-99. As a youth he visited Annie Daub’s Hillside Farm House, his grandmother’s farm and boarding house. When he was 18, he moved fulltime to the farm. His uncle, Fred H. Daub, b.1903-76 also an egg farmer, bought him a small flock of chicks. George raised egg layers, meat birds and starter pullets until 2006. He is also the Supervisor of the Lake Huntington Sewerage Treatment Plant. His son, Mike b.1978, is now using the coop to raise meat birds and layers and marketing the eggs locally. Interviewed: January, 2011 Select Clips of George Walters
