Alan Levine
His father, Aaron b.1909-74 and Eva b.1913-unk., an executive for Socony Oil, purchased a property in Kerhonkson in 1940. At age 13, Alan worked on Sam Cohen’s egg farm. In 1950, his father purchased an egg farm from the Rothstein’s. Alan b.1936 worked on the farm through high school. After he graduated from college in 1958, Alan joined the family business along with his brother Steve b.1939? He married Arlene Bazer b.1942 and raised 3 sons all whom helped on the farm. Difficult economic times forced the egg farm to close in 1973. By the late 60’s Alan had also created an egg processing plant and distribution business. After the closure of the egg farm, he went full time into the food and then beverage distribution as Nest Fresh Farm, for the next 29 years.
